Loneliness among seniors is becoming a pressing health concern in Singapore, especially with a rapidly ageing population. As the hidden killer among elderlies, loneliness has a myriad of effects, including a shorter life expectancy, anxiety and depression. Turning the connotation of the popular meme on its head, Doing OK, Boomer? is a campaign created to enhance our seniors’ social support through quality interactions with the youth. When the young and old form meaningful relationships, it cultivates a sense of purpose that extends both ways, helping ensure that the youths receive attention and mentoring, while our seniors get to experience the world through a younger perspective.
